Modular Building (Temporary Classrooms)
William Stukeley C of E Primary School, located in Holbeach, South Lincolnshire, is undergoing a significant expansion with the addition of four new classrooms, a project managed by Lindum Group.
To minimise disruption to students during construction, a temporary classroom was required. Pickerings was selected by Lindum Group to provide a high-quality modular classroom that would offer an efficient, warm, and secure environment for six months.
Given the school’s picturesque setting, surrounded by many large trees protected by Tree Preservation Orders, careful planning was essential to position the classrooms without causing harm to the trees or the landscape.
The modular classrooms were built off-site and delivered using access trackway, ensuring a safe installation process with minimal environmental impact. Timing was critical, as the installation had to be completed during the school holidays to ensure the site was free of students. Pickerings worked closely with the client and consultants to deliver a high-spec classroom solution within the client’s budget.
The finished classrooms are bright, spacious, and well-ventilated. In addition to supplying the modular building, Pickerings provided a full turnkey solution that included managing building control requirements, fire and intruder alarms, emergency lighting, three compartment trunking and data cabling for an interactive whiteboard. We also added finger guards for extra safety on all doors.
We hope the staff and students at William Stukeley School enjoy their new, temporary learning environment.
At the end of a successful project, we’re pleased to have provided a comfortable classroom for both staff and students at the school.
