Pickerings supports local community

At Pickerings, we believe in making a difference, not just through our temporary buildings but also by contributing to our local communities. Recently, we received a request to remove an old container located on one of our clients’ sites in Wolverhampton. Little did we know that this would lead us to a wonderful opportunity to assist a local charity to our Birmingham depot.

Chris McEwan, our Business Development Manager, received a call just in time, asking for our help in supporting a local charity that is doing remarkable work in the community who were currently facing challenges in managing resources at their Birmingham base. After speaking to Gary Dowden, our Depot Manager at Birmingham, it immediately sparked an idea – why not repurpose the old container into something beneficial to the charity?

Help Harry Help Others (HHHO) began as a campaign by Harry Moseley, an inspiring young boy diagnosed with brain cancer, who raised funds through selling handmade bracelets. After Harry sadly passed away in 2011, his mother, Georgie Moseley, continued his mission by transforming HHHO into a registered charity in 2012. The charity offers extensive cancer support services through their Birmingham-based drop-in centre, addressing financial, emotional, and practical challenges faced by individuals and families affected by cancer. HHHO also funds vital cancer research and provides grants to families experiencing hardship due to the disease.

To improve the delivery of their services across the West Midlands, they will use the storage container to securely store essential items and equipment. This will help the charity streamline operations and efficiently allocate resources as needed.
