Pickerings pleased to support charity initiative

Pickerings recently made a donation of one of our AV storage units to 'Simply Cycling' to improve storage and safety for their fleet of bikes. Simply Cycling are a charity that offers All Ability Cycling based in Boggart Hole Clough, Charlestown. They have a large fleet of adapted bikes and trikes and they aim to find a bike for everyone irrespective of ability.

With the Manchester City Council’s help, Bowmer and Kirkland were contacted by Simply Cycling to request a donation of a storage container. They then contacted Pickerings to see if we could help.

By keeping their bikes in better storage containers, away from the inclement weather, they are able to provide a high quality of bikes to all. This in turn ensures that customers with their varying mental health issues, disabilities and social needs will be able to ride easily and get the physical exercise, health and wellbeing benefits. Pickerings donated a 20ft shipping container which was repainted internally and externally.

We ensured that there was suitable access and egress routes for the HGV and minimal disruption was incurred to the park. We also helped to take away an old container that had become derelict.
